The 30th anniversary of the peaceful revolution and German reunification: The Federal Government would like to celebrate these anniversaries in 2019 and 2020 by bringing all of Germany together under the motto “Deutschland ist eins: vieles” (Germany: Coming together as one). The series began in autumn 2019 with a campaign that tackled German stereotypes with irony and humour, displayed the beauty of German landscapes, and showed the country’s diversity. These images are meant to spark curiosity and inspire reflection on questions like: What is “typically German”? And does such a thing even exist?
